Stowe’s Annual Garden Festival shows off the best of what Stowe area gardeners and garden designers can do.It’s a low key affair running over a weekend late in June or early July. You tour various venues, from private homes to the resorts and spas like Top Notch and Trapp Family Lodge. In all there are more than two dozen tours you can take over the course of the three day event.
You can pick up tips about intensive gardening in small spaces from such experts as Steffan Christiansen, University of Vermont Extension Master Gardener and Plantsman at Lang Farm Nursery.
You can learn about innovative floral designs from Stowe’s Designs on the Porch.
You can stroll the grounds of the Trapp Family Lodge and learn about how head gardener, Kim Early put together the extensive annual bed and perennial gardens. If you are interested in herbs and aroma therapy, there’s a tour of the seven circuit labyrinth garden at the Stoweflake Mountain Resort.
Our slide show below will give you more of an idea of what you can see and do.
